THE POSITION

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Human Resource Service Center (HRSC) Work Related Injury Services (WRIS) is a team of dedicated staff who are called upon when Commonwealth employees need support the most. In this vital role, the incumbent performs a variety of administrative and fiscal duties and supports and manages certain aspects of the workers' compensation program. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Human Resource Assistant 2, you will learn about the commonwealth's workers' compensation programs and the Comptroller Office's financial procedures for payments. You will have the opportunity to develop skills using various programs such as the commonwealth's SAP HR and Finance transactions, Tracking System and internal databases, and the workers' compensation claims administrator's system.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Required to be in the office as required. Currently in the office a minimum of once a month with the team plus various days throughout each month to perform required duties. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Human Resource Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of clerical or other comparable experience and one year of beginning level paraprofessional human resource or equal opportunity work; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
