SUMMARY:

Support coordinating, planning, and purchasing of material involved in work transfer process. Assist with coordination and execution of work transfer process. Ensure compliance with both internal and external customer work transfer requirements.

SCOPE/SUPERVISION AND INTERACTION:

Does Not Have Direct Reports

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Review and validate work transfer requirements relating to notifying of FAA of transfer of work for parts requiring "Parts Manufacturer Approval" (PMA). Facilitate cross-functional review & input of needed information to complete standard notification forms and application of "No Undue Burden" (NUB) requests.

Create, utilize, and maintain standard work and templates that meet internal and external requirements for FAA & customer notification related to work transfers.

Individually, or as part of a technical and/or quality team, conducts supplier evaluations. Monitors supplier performance and advises appropriate personnel of impending supplier failure to fulfill contractual agreements that may delay production or delivery.

Identifies common raw material and component requirements for production from basic engineering and production specifications and schedules. Coordinates material movements between internal work and storage areas and/or outside suppliers to ensure materials are available as needed.

Coordinates cross-functional reviews with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Inventory Control, Shipping/Receiving, and Contract Administration to ensure efficient customer notification and receipt of approval for work transfers.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing trade publications, establishing networks, and/or participating in professional associations.

Complies with federal, state, and aerospace industry regulations; ensures adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions. Complies with Government/Commercial Practices Manual (GPM/CPM) policies and procedures.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities (e.g. continuous improvement).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree (BA) in Business Administration or related field which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field. Professional entry level position. May have limited prior industry experience or worked with direction in student internship programs.

Knowledge of key purchasing and negotiating methods, principles and concepts and general business operations. General knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement. Basic understanding of continuous improvement techniques and methods. Ability to use standard business application software and specialized purchasing and/or materials systems (e.g. electronic data interface (EDI) or manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems). Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to research and analyze data and develop recommendations or resolve problems by drawing on internal information and referring to prior decisions. Ability to work with only general work direction and instructions regarding the scope of assignments and determine priority and order of assignments. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to negotiate effectively to obtain the best price and terms. Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
