From massive data centers to modernizing transmission systems, our industry-recognized engineers and scientists have been at the forefront of grid transformation for more than a century. You'll work side-by-side with these experts and contribute to reliable, resilient and sustainable power systems, helping communities thrive and industries expand. This isn't just a job, it's a chance to drive infrastructure forward, power innovation and leave your mark on our energy future.

HDR is seeking a Senior Strategic Communications Coordinator to join our growing program and lead engagement efforts for projects across Wisconsin. We're looking for an experienced communications professional passionate about strategic communications and stakeholder engagement. As a natural connector, you'll build strong relationships, understand client priorities, and develop tailored strategies that drive meaningful engagement. This role requires expertise in public involvement, public relations, and community engagement, along with the ability to listen, craft unique approaches, and identify team synergies to solve complex challenges. In this role, you'll manage projects and build relationships with some of HDR's largest clients. If you thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy building relationships, and want to make an impact through strategic communication, we'd love to hear from you.

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Managing and leading strategic communication projects and tasks, making sure there is alignment with client goals and HDR standards.

You will facilitate collaboration across creative and technical disciplines, provide clear direction, and foster an environment where innovative ideas can thrive.

  • Facilitating virtual or in-person public meetings, hearings, open houses, focus groups, workshops, advisory committees, and other stakeholder meetings to ensure meaningful engagement and transparency.

  • Developing and implementing communications and engagement plans for a variety of projects, including target audience strategy, media relations and tracking, collateral material development, comment response programs, event planning, overall activity schedule, information lines, contact databases, and reporting.

  • Leading concept development, writing, and editing of collateral materials such as surveys, newsletters, websites, handouts, videos, advertisements, press releases, and public notices.

  • Supporting the growth and development of the overall strategic communications program and team members through your project work and mentorship.

  • You'll play an active role in marketing and business development by supporting proposal efforts, brainstorming creative approaches, and participating in strategy calls. This includes helping craft compelling content, coordinating with the team to showcase our strengths, and identifying opportunities to position HDR for success.
