Position Overview: Bongards Premium Cheese is looking for a dedicated, dynamic and experienced professional to serve as our overnight Electrician. This person would provide support to production lines in all areas, with an emphasis on electrical components and systems.

Job duties:



  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematic drawings and diagrams required to perform maintenance or install plant equipment.
  • Perform electrical repairs as required to plant and building equipment.
  • Perform preventative electrical repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and replace electrical components or equipment and inside control panels.
  • Assist in the installation and adjustment of new plant equipment.
  • Operate a variety of power, hand, and shop tools in a safe manner.
  • Perform duties as necessary to ensure that plant equipment operates continuously and effectively.
  • Notify lead or manager of relate problems as required.
  • Must participate in continuing schooling or education sponsored by the company.
  • Operate electrical test equipment.
  • Must have and understanding of PLC's, HMI's, and motion control.
  • Must have an understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Must have knowledge of and follow OSHA safety procedures.
  • Must report all food safety and quality concerns to immediate supervisor or their designated replacement.


Demonstrated Technical Competencies:



  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively to employees in various departments and outside vendors
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement.
  • Ability to write routine reports such as work orders, preventative maintenance, etc.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions presented in written, oral diagram, or a schedule form.
  • Must be willing to follow directions from management.
  • Ability to work as a team and interact in a professional and courteous manner with coworkers.


Safety:

Must comply with all general safety policies and procedures in accordance with Company, Local, State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.

Other requirements:



  1. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  2. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  3. Must demonstrate a commitment to employee and food safety.


Physical capabilities:



  1. Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
  2. Must be capable of climbing ladders at working at varied heights.
