Position Overview

The Director of Enterprise Marketing Transformation advances operational efficiency by driving cross-functional transformation initiatives with a focus on AI and automation. This newly created position will execute a defined transformation roadmap developed through a six-month strategic assessment. In year one, the Director will lead and coordinate 11 concurrent initiatives, including five process modernization workstreams, five agentic AI implementations, and a contact data governance initiative to strengthen CRM integrity and targeting effectiveness.

Serving as the central orchestration point across functional owners, the Director ensures alignment, accountability, risk mitigation, and timely delivery. The position partners closely with executive leadership across Marketing, ZEDI (Data & IT), and Sales to accelerate enterprise priorities through disciplined governance and measurable execution. Success requires a delivery-oriented transformation leader who brings executive presence, enforces accountability across a matrixed organization, and translates strategy into sustained operational change.

What You'll Do:

The Director of Enterprise Marketing Transformation ensures governance, accountability, and forward momentum across transformation workstreams. While driving structure, coordination, and executive visibility, functional teams and subject matter experts remain responsible for delivering the underlying workstreams.

First 12 Months Impact

  • Lead execution of 5 marketing process improvement workstreams identified through a recent diagnostic engagement.

  • Oversee implementation of 5 agentic AI initiatives to modernize workflows and reduce friction.

  • Serve as chief program lead for a high-visibility cross-functional initiative spanning Marketing, ZEDI (Data/IT), and Sales, with regular reporting.

  • Identify and remove barriers to progress while navigating competing functional priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple concurrent transformation initiatives from concept through execution, serving as the central orchestration point across senior leaders and functional stakeholders.

  • Oversee AI and automation transformation roadmap, including directing and coordinating the teams and partners responsible for implementing agentic AI solutions. This includes ensuring adoption, measurable impact, and integration with existing marketing systems and workflows.

  • Facilitate strategy sessions, decision forums, and executive discussions, ensuring alignment and follow-through of key cross-functional initiatives.

  • Establish structured governance forums, decision logs, and accountability frameworks to drive disciplined execution across matrixed teams.

  • Identify and mitigate cross-functional, operational, and technical risks and dependencies to maintain execution momentum.

  • Drive execution across a global, matrixed enterprise environment, influencing stakeholders at all levels including senior leadership.

  • Develop executive dashboards and deliver quarterly business reviews, providing ongoing progress updates to the CMO and key stakeholders.

What You'll Bring

  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in Marketing Operations, Strategy, Transformation, or related roles

  • Demonstrated project management experience, including leadership of large-scale, multi-workstream initiatives.

  • Experience working across Marketing, Sales, and IT within CRM-driven, matrixed environments with executive visibility.

Skills & Capabilities

  • Strong executive presence and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across levels, lead complex high-visibility initiatives, and resolve cross-functional friction while maintaining alignment to enterprise objectives.

  • Demonstrated experience implementing AI-enabled workflows or automation initiatives, with a clear understanding of how agentic AI solutions integrate into business processes and drive measurable productivity gains.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex or ambiguous data into clear, actionable insights that drive measurable outcomes.

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce environments, CRM workflows, and the impact of data quality and governance on marketing performance and targeting effectiveness.

  • Proven ability to operate independently while establishing strong program management rigor, including milestone tracking, risk mitigation, executive reporting, and cross-functional accountability cadence.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (preferred)

  • Project management and change management certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, Agile, PROSCI) are a strong plus.

  • MBA or consulting background is a plus but not required.

Location and Workplace Flexibility

We have offices in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India. We foster a hybrid and remote friendly culture, and all our employee's work locations are based on the needs of the position and determined by the Leadership team. In-office work and activities, if applicable, vary based on the work and team objectives in accordance with Company policies.

Base Salary Range

$153,000.00 - $193,800.00

At Zelis we are committed to providing fair and equitable compensation packages. The base salary range allows us to make an offer that considers multiple individualized factors, including experience, education, qualifications, as well as job-related and industry-related knowledge and skills, etc. Base pay is just one part of our Total Rewards package, which may also include discretionary bonus plans, commissions, or other incentives depending on the role.
