SEI is looking to expand our Equity Trading team and seeks an Equity Trading Analyst. The Equity Trading team, within the Investment Management Unit, is responsible for all equity trading activity generated through our managed account program, quantitative factor portfolios, and SEI's exchange traded funds.

The ideal candidate should have experience in - or willingness to learn - global equity and ETF trading, as well as trading operations. The candidate must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work well on a dynamic high performing global team. S/He will work with brokers, portfolio managers, and internal support teams on a wide array of investment strategies and assist in building scalable processes to increase trading desk efficiencies.

What you'll do:

As an Equity Trading Analyst, you'll play a key role in ensuring efficient and accurate trade execution across a diverse range of investment strategies. The Trading Desk and this associate is responsible for daily interactions with our sell side partners to facilitate the trade execution process from trade creation through trade settlement. That includes management of trade orders in various Order Management Systems and utilization of an Execution Management System for order routing and pre and post trade transaction cost analysis. In addition, the analyst will be responsible for supporting back office trade processing and settlement activities trade activity on a daily basis and helping to design potential strategies related to trading. The ability to sort and analyze large sets of data is required.

Activities include:

  • Work with portfolio and trading operations team to get portfolio trades and execute them in the market.
  • Review pre-trade analysis reports to confirm that trading strategies are appropriate for the given market conditions.
  • Route portfolio trades to trading counterparties with instructions for trade execution. Monitor trades in real-time for risk exposure and make adjustments as needed.
  • Review post-trade analysis reports to look for outliers and contributing cost factors.Support internal reporting on ETF Capital Markets metrics for distribution throughout the firm

Support reporting and/or content on SEI ETFs, highlighting trading, flows, performance, etc.

  • Work with key stakeholders on market structure issues, representing ETFs in broader industry discussions Engage trading counterparties where actual costs are not inline with estimated.
  • Present trading results monthly and quarterly to portfolio managers and interested committees.
  • Resolve un-affirmed and failing trades.
  • Review and draft Ensure documentation operating procedures to ensure they of all capital markets and trading functions are accurate and current.
  • Work on special projects as assigned by the Manager of the team.

What you bring to the table:

The ideal candidate will be a go-getter who enjoys sifting through data and numbers. They should also possess an understanding ofthe asset management business and investment product types (e.g., managed accounts, ETFs, mutual funds) and equity trading operations (i.e. trade generation, order blocking, order routing, different trading benchmarks and execution strategies).

  • A four-year undergraduate degree, ideally in finance or mathematics. Interest in or progress towards a CFA a plus.
  • At least 1 year of experience in financial services, with a track record of increasing responsibilities and duties.
  • Strong analytical skills and a sharp eye for detail.
  • A knack for simplifying the complex.
  • The ability to thoroughly and accurately document processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver results.The ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and drive tasks to completion without hand-holding
  • A natural problem solver who can think critically, propose solutions, and help evolve our processes.
