We are currently seeking a Senior Aerospace Turbine Engine Controls Engineer to support our customer. You will design, develop, and validate control logic, software, and hardware (e.g., FADEC) for aircraft engines to ensure optimal performance, operability, and safety. You will use modeling tools like MATLAB/Simulink to create systems that manage fuel flow, airflow, and engine limits.
This position may allow for remote work; however, employees must be able and willing to travel and provide in-office or on-site support as required by customer requirements, project demands, or business needs.
Duties:


  • Control Logic & Software Development: Develop and test algorithms for engine control systems, including thrust management, transient operability, and engine protection logic.
  • Modeling & Simulation: Utilize modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) to design and validate control strategies.
  • Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Testing: Validate control software on hardware simulators to verify performance before actual engine testing.
  • Engine Operability & Diagnostics: Set engine operating boundaries, analyze performance data, and resolve engine control system anomalies.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software and hardware, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.


Required Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering
  • Master's degree preferred


Required Experience:



  • 10+ years of experience as it relates to the duties listed
  • Strong understanding of gas turbine engine principles, control theory, and dynamic systems.
  • Knowledge in MATLAB/Simulink and experienced with simulation tools.
  • Proficient with DOORS
  • Experience in control requirements development, software implementation, or aviation systems.
  • DO-178C, ARP-4754A
