Payroll Supervisor City Light & Power (CLP) has built a reputation as an innovative, reliable, and responsive private Utility Development Leader. The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for supervise and support the payroll team at our corporate location for CLP and affiliated companies. Summary/Objective: The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for the oversight, administration, and processing of the weekly union and bi-weekly multi-state payroll. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages members of the payroll team by delegating tasks, monitoring task completion, and managing team performance.
- Maintains and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Review and approve bi-weekly and weekly payroll including regular pay, bonus, terminations, and any other pay, while ensuring data is accurate and in compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines.
- Provide payroll processing backup support.
- Review employee time sheets and attendance processing and interface with Simplex payroll software.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates for all Union and Corporate employees
- Prepares and uploads payroll journal entries, vendor file updates and state reports.
- Prepare and/or review monthly union dues and benefit invoices
- Performs general ledger account reconciliation from Paylocity to ERP (Spectrum) and applicable changes to payroll.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and provides reports of payroll transactions to management as requested.
- Responsible for reviewing Davis Bacon and Service Contract Act certified payrolls and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5+) years of multistate payroll experience required
- Previous experience with union payroll required.
- Lead or Supervisory experience with payroll teams and processes preferred.
- Payroll job costing required.
- Davis Bacon and Service Contract Act payroll experience preferred.
- Experience with payroll software (Paylocity experience is a plus).
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
- Must be experienced in high volume, multi-state payroll and knowledge of payroll regulatory compliance.
- Excellent written and oral communication, and strong relationship-building skills required.
- Must be detail oriented with solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong computer skills required including use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) with a willingness to learn new software programs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time, exempt position. Office hours of work are Monday through Friday. Hybrid work schedule possible.
Supervisory Responsibility
- This position will oversee a corporate payroll team.

- Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000/annual based on experience plus eligible for participation in Short Term Incentive Plan.
