Job Overview:

The Balance Technician is responsible for inspecting, balancing, and verifying rotating components to ensure they meet required balance tolerances, quality standards, and customer specifications. This role supports equipment reliability, vibration reduction, and overall product performance through precise balancing operations and documentation.

Responsibilities:


  • Perform static and dynamic balancing of rotors

  • Set up, operate, and maintain balancing machines and associated measurement equipment

  • Interpret engineering drawings, balance specifications, and tolerance requirements

  • Safely use hand tools, grinders, drills, and precision measuring instruments

  • Record balance results and inspection data

  • Inspect components for defects, wear, or damage prior to and after balancing

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and OSHA standards

  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to balance accuracy and process efficiency



Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1+ years of experience with Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial expereince



Key Competencies:


  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of rotating equipment

  • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation

  • Ability to follow safety procedures and quality standards consistently

  • Ability to stand for extended periods

  • Lift and handle components up to 35lbs (with assistance or lifting devices as required)

  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, rotating machinery, and metal components



Preferences:


  • Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and work instructions

  • Experience using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision tools




Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:


  • This position will be based at our site in Mocksville, NC, with no anticipated travel.
