This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of the Austin office.

The Credit Solutions group manages lending/credit for a wide range of credit relationships. Leads the due diligence process and deal structuring process. Partners with the Relationship Management Team for the delivery and negotiation of credit solutions. Owns the underwriting, approval and closing process. Responsible for proactive portfolio management, including maintaining credit quality and profitability targets. Remains abreast of market, sector and competitive trends. Engages and builds relationships with key client stakeholders to remain well-informed, and able to respond to changing circumstances while appropriately balancing client and SVB needs. Develops and delivers insights and points of view on loan types and credit/performance trends in sectors/sub-sectors.

Conducts due diligence and engages in the structuring and delivery of new deals. Underwrites new loans, renewals, and credit actions related to modifications or changing risk. Supports overall lending process on new deals and modifications to existing deals, from underwriting through documentation and closing. Reviews information and communicates on clients' compliance status, changing level of risk and broader trends in portfolio. Utilizes critical thinking skills in supporting VP's and Directors/MD's on both recommendations and actions pertaining to pipeline and portfolio management. Completes underwriting and portfolio management with practices that meet SVB policies/procedures in terms of timeliness, completeness, consistency and accuracy. Handles client needs by interacting with appropriate internal and external stakeholders. Develops expertise in SVB's loan types and markets.


Responsibilities

  • Credit Analysis and Underwriting - Preside over spreading of financial statements and analyzing financial data. Support the underwriting process by gathering and organizing relevant information. Help prepare credit memos and other underwriting documents. Participate in the assessment of credit risk and loan structuring.
  • Portfolio Management and Monitoring - Assist in monitoring existing credit relationships for compliance and performance. Help prepare regular portfolio reviews and risk assessments. Support the team in identifying potential issues within the portfolio. Contribute to the preparation of management reports on portfolio performance.
  • Documentation and Compliance - Assist in preparing and maintaining credit files. Support the team in ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Help gather and organize documentation for credit applications and renewals. Contribute to the preparation of covenant compliance reports.
  • Client Relationship Support - Assist in gathering client information and responding to basic client inquiries. Support team in preparing for client meetings. Help coordinate internal resources to address client needs. Contribute to the maintenance of client relationships through timely and accurate communication.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 1 years of experience in Credit analysis and accounting experience OR High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of experience in Credit analysis and accounting experience

2 or more years of related experience or High School diploma or GED with 6 years of experience
