OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANYFox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. FOX Chicago is seeking a dynamic and strategic Executive Producer to lead our newsroom's digital-first daily editorial vision, content execution, and team performance. This role is responsible for overseeing newscasts and programs across multiple platforms, ensuring high-quality journalism, strong storytelling, and audience-driven content that reflects the Chicago market. The ideal candidate is a decisive leader with a passion for digital-first thinking, breaking news, and innovative storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily editorial planning for newscasts and digital platforms
  • Supervise producers, reporters, anchors, and assignment desk staff
  • Oversee rundowns, story selection, and content prioritization
  • Ensure accuracy, fairness, and journalistic integrity in all content
  • Drive breaking news coverage and continuous updates across platforms
  • Collaborate with digital, social, and streaming teams to expand audience reach
  • Mentor and develop newsroom talent, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Monitor ratings, analytics, and audience trends to inform content strategy
  • Coordinate with promotions, sales, and creative services for special projects
  • Ensure compliance with FCC regulations, company policies, and ethical standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7-10+ years of newsroom experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Strong editorial judgment and decision-making skills under deadline pressure
  • Proven ability to implement a multi-platform news distribution strategy
  • Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, breaking news environment
  • Experience with newsroom systems (ENPS, iNews, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a major market newsroom (Top 10 preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of the Chicago news landscape
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
  • Experience managing multi-platform content and emerging media formats

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $120,000.00-139,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
