About the Role

Gain hands on experience as a Summer Pricing Intern supporting Matson's Pricing organization. You'll work alongside Pricing Analysts, Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to evaluate rate proposals, analyze market data, and support competitive pricing strategies across our core trade lanes. This internship requires the successful candidate to be in-office at our Walnut Creek Corporate Office at least 3 days per week.

What you'll do:

• Evaluate rate proposals and prepare data driven pricing recommendations.
• Research market trends and customer requirements to inform pricing decisions.
• Assist in preparing, updating, and maintaining tariff pages and contract documentation.
• Partner with Sales to assemble pricing packages aligned with customer needs and company objectives.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Legal, and Operations on pricing initiatives and process improvements.
• Help organize shared pricing folders, documentation libraries, and internal tools.
• Support special AI related projects as needed.

You have these skills:

• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting findings.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
• Basic Python and/or SQL for data wrangling and analysis (preferred but not required).

And these qualifications:

• Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Analytics, Transportation, Supply Chain, Data Science, or related field.
• Completion of introductory business, analytics, economics, or statistics coursework.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Interest in pricing, transportation/logistics, and data analytics/ML.
• Must be able to work onsite in Walnut Creek at least 3 days per week.

The hourly rate is posted for this position.
