The Material Coordinator is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate material flow to support production line schedules and customer demand. This role works closely with manufacturing, master planning, purchasing, and warehouse teams to develop sequenced line schedules, resolve material shortages, and maintain inventory accuracy within Oracle. The Material Coordinator uses strong analytical skills, data-driven decision-making, and effective communication to proactively identify and address issues that could impact production. This position requires organization, attention to detail, and the ability to function effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure situations while driving continuous improvement across material planning, flow, and inventory processes. This role is on 1st shift, with hours from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and is located on-site at our manufacturing facility in Greeneville, TN.

Roles Responsibilities:

  • Use the production schedule as a guide to collaborate with manufacturing, master planning, materials, and purchasing teams to prepare a sequenced line schedule.
  • Work with master planning to reschedule work orders when materials or manufacturing resources are not available to meet the original schedule.
  • Collaborate with master planning to adjust work order quantities to match actual production output.
  • Communicate effectively-both verbally and in writing-to update team members on product status and issues requiring resolution.
  • Communicate material pick lists to warehouse and purchasing personnel to support production schedules.
  • Analyze data and apply problemsolving skills to resolve material issues that negatively impact production schedules and customer demand.
  • Plan, execute, measure, and control material stocking levels to ensure continuous production flow and 100% ontime delivery to internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate factory floor material handling resources, assisting with material handling when necessary.
  • Ensure Oracle data integrity, including onhand inventory and WIP balances.
  • Lead and coordinate the 8D process for stockouts and production schedule conflicts.
  • Utilize strong computer skills in Oracle (MRP) and Microsoft Excel to support material planning activities.
  • Maintain high levels of organization, detail orientation, and self-motivation, especially in fastpaced, high-pressure situations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in material planning, material flow, inventory accuracy, and ontime work order completion.
  • Attend required training seminars and participate in onthe-job training provided by the supervisor or designee.
  • Enter labor and scrap data daily with accuracy.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Maintain reliable daily attendance as a basic requirement of this role.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make decisions to support production flow.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn Oracle/MRP systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with limited supervision.
  • Ability to collaborate professionally with teams across manufacturing, materials, planning, and purchasing.
  • Reliable daily attendance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in material planning, scheduling, or inventory coordination in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using Oracle (MRP) or similar enterprise systems.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing, material flow, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Experience coordinating or contributing to rootcause analysis activities (e.g., 8D).
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and production needs.
