Director New Construction Integration
Reports to: Executive Vice President, New Construction
Location: Multi-site / Travel Required
Position Summary
The Director New Construction Integration serves as a strategic partner to the Executive Vice President, New Construction, supporting execution across multiple shipyards by driving alignment, visibility, and accountability on critical operational priorities.
This role is responsible for identifying performance gaps, coordinating cross-yard solutions, and ensuring consistent execution of key initiatives related to productivity, ship build progress, scheduling performance, material availability, and operational collaboration.
The role will work laterally with shipyard leaders, engineering, program management, supply chain, operations support partners, and senior leadership to resolve issues at scale and improve overall operational performance across the enterprise.
This position does not replace site leadership authority, but instead enables stronger coordination, faster decision-making, and consistent standards across all yards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Performance & Productivity
- Partner with shipyard leaders to identify productivity gaps and drive improvement initiatives across multiple sites
- Establish consistent performance metrics and reporting across all shipyards
- Monitor performance trends and escalate risks to executive leadership as needed
Ship Build Execution & Schedule Performance
- Provide enterprise-level visibility to ship build progress across all yards
- Support long-range schedule planning and execution discipline
- Identify risks to delivery commitments and coordinate cross-functional resolution
Material & Inventory Coordination
- Partner with supply chain, procurement, and planning teams to resolve material constraints impacting production
- Improve cross-yard visibility of inventory and material availability
- Support strategies to optimize inventory utilization across sites
Cross-Yard Standardization
- Drive alignment on common processes, metrics, and reporting standards
- Identify best practices across yards and support implementation at scale
- Reduce variability in execution that impacts cost, schedule, or quality
Strategic Problem Solving
- Lead cross-functional efforts to resolve systemic operational issues
- Coordinate resources across sites when needed to support delivery success
- Support executive decision-making with data, analysis, and recommendations
Leadership Collaboration
- Partner with shipyard General Managers and functional leaders to support performance improvement
- Facilitate collaboration between engineering, production, program management, and supply chain
- Act as an extension of the EVP to ensure priorities are understood and executed
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in shipbuilding in complex industrial operation
- Director or above experience supporting multi-site or large-scale operations preferred
- Strong understanding of shipbuilding production, planning, scheduling, and supply chain
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders
- Proven track record of driving operational improvement
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to operate in high-visibility, high-accountability environments
