About the Role:

The Intern - Accounting position within the Accounting department offers a comprehensive introduction to fundamental accounting and financial operations. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in applying accounting principles to real-world financial data, supporting the finance team in maintaining accurate records and reports. The intern will contribute to various projects that enhance understanding of financial processes, compliance requirements, and internal controls. By collaborating with experienced professionals, the intern will develop critical analytical and organizational skills essential for a career in finance and accounting. Ultimately, this role aims to prepare the candidate for future opportunities in accounting and finance by fostering a strong foundational knowledge and practical experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship or work experience in a finance or accounting environment.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Familiarity with financial analysis and budgeting techniques.
  • Experience with data visualization tools or advanced Excel functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the accounting team in data entry and maintenance of accounting records.
  • Help analyze financial information to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy, as needed.
  • Participate in audits and assist with compliance documentation as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency, as needed.
