In the role of Area HR Manager for Arizona and New Mexico, you will serve as a trusted HR partner to leaders and employees across the Arizona and New Mexico area, helping ensure fair, consistent, and people centered application of HDR policies while supporting business outcomes and an inclusive employee experience. What You'll Do: Employee Relations, Policy & Performance Support
- Partner with Area Managers and Managing Principals to provide guidance on the fair and consistent interpretation and application of HDR policies and procedures, consulting with the Regional HR Director as needed
- Serve as a resource to employees by providing clear, consistent guidance on HDR policies and procedures
- Conduct employee relations intake and investigations, develop recommendations for resolution, and communicate outcomes and next steps to employees and leadership
- Consult with the Regional HR Director and area leadership on performance management and behavioral concerns, including drafting corrective action and performance improvement documentation
Compliance, Risk & Workforce Actions
- Support legal and compliance matters, including audits and lawsuits, as needed
- Coordinate and manage reductions in force and employment terminations in partnership with the Regional HR Director, Area Managers/Managing Principals, and Regional Operations Director
- Manage the ADA accommodation process with guidance from the Regional Human Resources Director
- Facilitate leaves of absence and related processes
- Ensure HR practices align with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as ethical standards
Employee Experience, Engagement & Inclusion
- Lead and facilitate efforts to enhance the overall employee experience
- Support the annual performance conversation and review process to drive strong participation and consistency
- Build upon existing practices to promote inclusion at all levels of the organization
- Drive and support an inclusive work environment by integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion into everyday business practices
- Assist with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and positive programs
Learning, Development & Training
- Coordinate training efforts and participate in the development of brown bag sessions and other local learning opportunities for managers
- Develop and/or deliver a variety of HR related training programs as needed
- Partner with the Regional Human Resources Director to present HR training programs within the area
Recruitment, Mobility & Workforce Planning
- Partner with Recruiting, hiring managers, and HR leadership on select recruitment activities
- Coordinate with recruiters to identify alternative roles for employees impacted by potential layoffs due to workload changes
- Partner with the recruitment team to support consistent use of recruiting tools and processes at the local level through education and collaboration
- Work with Corporate Mobility and Immigration teams on mobility and immigration matters
- Create social media content to support communications related to promotions, new hires, and office activities
HR Operations & Administration
- Oversee the completion and submission of employee paperwork and documentation to Corporate HR
- Review and analyze HRIS system queries to ensure accuracy and data integrity
- Partner with Corporate Compensation and Benefits teams on complex compensation and benefit matters, including leaves of absence
- Assist leadership with personnel administration, salary planning, and special reporting
- Support employees in accessing and navigating benefit programs
Leadership & Role Requirements
- Support implementation of HDR's strategic plan at the area level
- Supervise Human Resources or administrative staff as needed
- This is an in-office role and requires approximately 20% travel
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field of study.
- Certifications focused in human resources (examples: PHR, SPHR, SHRM Certified Professional)
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of eight years related progressive experience
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive internal relationships and be a team player.
- Detail oriented, with strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Self-motivated with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and various manager requests in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong client service level
- Ability to remain a neutral third-party and maintain credibility as a consultant to management and employees
- Ability to facilitate employee training
- Ability to travel 20% of the time
