Position Summary
Join us and advance your career as an Assistant Director of Development with UCLA Athletics. UCLA is proud of its comprehensive athletic program and heritage. The collective accomplishments of Bruin teams and athletes are testimony to the efforts of many dedicated and talented individuals: the student-athletes themselves, as well as coaches, administrators, and support staff. The athletic department also benefits from the strong support of faculty, students, alumni, and fans with fundraising playing a significant role in the continuation of these collective accomplishments. Reporting to the Senior Director, Stewardship, the Assistant Director, Development assists signature events, and donor engagement, and leads event hospitality events. In addition, the Assistant Director, Development works with the Director, Bruin Varsity Club to cultivate former student-athletes toward greater participation and engagement with UCLA Athletics, including membership in the Bruin Varsity Club's "Premier" membership level.
Salary & Compensation

Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a fundraising environment, or prior professional experience in related field such as sales, marketing, business development or constituent engagement related experience. (Preferred) 2 years of event planning and coordinating experience, preferable in the athletics environment. (Preferred) Strong oral communication skills to collect and convey information with accuracy, diplomacy and tact; ability to persuasively express the mission of the university and goals of the Wooden Athletic Fund and Bruin Varsity Club. (Required)Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write and edit reports, business correspondence, appropriate letters of outreach, engagement and acknowledgement; ability to prepare clear and compelling materials for events, initiatives and programs. (Required)Detail oriented with ability to take initiative, work independently and accept responsibility; adept at setting priorities and managing work flow to fulfill objectives and meet goals according to deadlines in a dynamic and ever-changing environment. (Required)Ability to effectively work and collaborate in a cohesive team environment made up of diverse individuals with a variety of interests, strengths, and professional preparation. (Required)Well-developed interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues and build and sustain lasting relationships with a wide variety of internal and external constituents including those of a high level. (Required)Ability to manage programs and initiatives and in evaluating effectiveness against established goals. (Required)Ability to make prudent and strategic decisions and take appropriate action in situations where there may not be clearly established criteria or standards. (Required)Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive files and other information; impeccable integrity and discretion in dealing with colleagues and constituents. (Required)Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft suite of applications as well as familiarity with other databases, spreadsheet, scheduling and email applications; willingness to learn new programs and applications in a prompt and efficient manner. (Required)Demonstrated ability to adhere to and comply with NCAA, Conference, and University rules and regulations. (Required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and training is preferred. (Preferred)
