What You'll Do
The Logistics and Manufacturing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring optimal inventory levels, accurate material flow, and efficient warehouse and logistics operations at the Plano site. The role combines operational planning, inventory control, and logistics coordination to support production, service, and customer needs.
This position requires a high degree of autonomy, strong analytical capabilities, focus on helping our customers, and a commitment to continuous improvement, safety, and operational reliability.
Inventory Management & Planning
- Maintain optimal stock levels based on operational needs and predefined thresholds.
- Use ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Great Plains) to plan, track, and adjust inventory requirements.
- Analyze inventory trends, forecasts, and consumption patterns to anticipate needs.
- Identify actual or potential shortages; implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop, monitor, and update production schedules (monthly, weekly, daily).
- Support accurate part tracking and maintain strong mechanical understanding relevant to manufacturing operations.
Inventory Control & Audits
- Perform regular cycle counts, spot checks, and part inspections.
- Coordinate inventories and counting activities.
- Investigate discrepancies and reconcile data in collaboration with the Logistics' team in Montreal.
- Participate in the annual physical inventory.
- Ensure proper product labeling, storage, and FIFO/lot control procedures.
- Uphold strong inventory management discipline in a manufacturing and service environment.
Logistics, Warehousing & Material Flow
- Coordinate receiving, material movement, storage, and outbound shipments.
- Supervise inbound verification of goods, system receipts, and discrepancy reporting.
- Oversee picking, packing, staging, and shipping to ensure accuracy and on time delivery.
- Support assembly kit preparation to ensure production flow.
- Lead safe and efficient handling and movement of materials; operate forklift when required (forklift certification mandatory), strictly adhering to all safety rules and procedures.
- Maintain consumables and shop supplies.
- Provide support to Procurement as needed.
- Act as backup for the Production Technician and for the Montreal Logistics team.
Leadership & Workforce Coordination
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, quality, and safety.
- Support cross functional coordination with Production, Procurement, and Service teams.
- Provide excellent internal customer service across departments.
Process Improvement & Systems Optimization
- Ensure compliance with ERP/WMS processes and internal controls.
- Document procedures, update SOPs, and support system improvements.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in special projects, including barcoding deployment and process automation.
- Maintain 5S standards in warehouse and logistics areas.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & International Support
- Work closely with Production, Procurement, and Purchasing teams.
- Purchase parts
- Coordinate local production and repair activities, including overseeing the work of the production technician.
- Oversee and support packing of systems for both sales and service requirements.
- Assist in preparing reports, KPIs, trends, and projections.
- Provide operational support and responsiveness for service requests across multiple countries, ensuring proximity and quick reaction to incidents.

- Strong understanding of inventory control, logistics, and warehouse procedures.

- Good mechanical understanding and familiarity with manufacturing environments.
Qualifications and experience
- College diploma or university degree in logistics, supply chain, operations management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 to 5 years of experience in inventory control, logistics, planning, or warehouse operations.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment (required).
- Basic ERP/MRP experience (training/coaching available).
- Forklift certification (required).
- Ability to Procure parts to support international operations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- NIBIN clearance (mandatory).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and supply chain related tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
