Job Summary
At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire a Technical System Maintenance Leader based in our yogurt manufacturing plant in West Jordan, Utah!

Reporting into the Maintenance Director, the Technical System Maintenance Leader is responsible for leading and sustaining the site's facilities, maintenance storeroom, and preventive maintenance systems to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations. This role provides hands on leadership to maintenance and storeroom teams, owns the preventive and predictive maintenance strategy, and ensures facility and infrastructure reliability in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. This position plays a critical role in driving equipment uptime, facility integrity, spare parts availability, and maintenance execution excellence through strong systems, disciplined planning, and cross functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our team, you will play an important role in driving our mission forward. The following responsibilities outline the core expectations and contributions for this position:

Plant Facilities & Infrastructure

    Own overall plant facilities maintenance, including buildings, grounds, and site infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, FDA, GMP).
  • Lead facility inspections, corrective actions, and long range facility maintenance planning.
  • Coordinate contractors and service providers to ensure safe, high quality execution of facility work.

Storeroom & Spare Parts Management

  • Lead the maintenance storeroom operation, including inventory accuracy, stocking strategy, and parts availability.
  • Own spare parts ordering, inventory optimization, and obsolescence management to balance cost and reliability.
  • Establish standard work for storeroom processes, cycle counts, and CMMS transactions.
  • Ensure critical spares are identified, available, and aligned with maintenance and reliability strategies.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

  • Own the creation, execution, and continuous improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure PM tasks are optimized, scheduled, and executed to prevent equipment failures and unplanned downtime.
  • Maintain PM data integrity within the CMMS, including task frequency, job plans, and documentation.
  • Partner with Engineering, Production, and Maintenance to drive breakdown elimination and equipment reliability improvements.

Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop maintenance and storeroom team members, including hiring, training, performance management, and discipline.
  • Set clear expectations, KPIs, and development plans aligned with site maintenance objectives.
  • Foster a strong safety culture and reinforce quality, compliance, and operational discipline.
  • Coordinate work and priorities across shifts to support 24/7 operations

Systems, Planning & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure accurate work order creation, execution, and documentation in the CMMS
  • Track and report maintenance KPIs related to PM compliance, facilities health, inventory, cost, and reliability.
  • Support long range maintenance planning and capital project readiness from a facilities and PM perspective
  • Champion continuous improvement using reliability, TPM, or IWS principles

Physical Demands

  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl; taste and/or smell, talk and hear.
  • Ability to bend & stoop at waist level as well as bend & twist neck and head.
  • The employee must regularly endure repetitive minimal to moderate lifting 10lbs up to 50lbs and occasional team lifting above 50lbs. Requires normal range of hearing and vision (including colors) to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports and results.
  • The employee is frequently standing on a concrete surface for 8-, 10- or 12-hour shifts
  • Occasionally may need to climb on stairs, step ladders, stool.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and may be exposed to loud noises in the plant. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, risk of electrical shock and vibration

As a fundamental piece of the organization, your responsibility is to participate and own the implementation and deployment of IWS system and its pillars (Leadership foundation, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE; Autonomous Maintenance; planned Maintenance; Focused Improvement; Education and Training; Environmental, Health and Safety; Quality; Organization; Supply Network; Early Equipment Management) with the objective of owning your space, owning your performance (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, Nature) and owning your continuous improvement.

About You

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of education, experience, and skills that enable them to excel in this position. The following qualifications outline what we're looking for, including both required and preferred criteria:

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance leadership within a manufacturing environment (food or beverage preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of CMMS, facilities management, preventive maintenance systems, and storeroom operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing contractors in a plant environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of TPM or Integrated Work Systems (IWS)
  • Fundamental knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling systems
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Ability to work in a fluid environment
  • Ability to identify problems, draw conclusions, and make recommended solutions
  • Ability to be self-directed with little supervision
  • Understand TPM and continuous improvement methods
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Working knowledge of root cause analysis tools with preventative and predictive concepts
  • Ability to adjust schedule to support 24/7 Manufacturing Operation; may include working graveyard shift and/or weekends as needed.
