Our client, a well-established professional services organization, is seeking an experienced Legal Billing Specialist to join their team. This position is ideal for someone who brings a strong background in law firm billing, understands the nuances of client guidelines and e-billing, and takes pride in producing accurate, timely work with a high level of service.

This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated professional who operates with urgency, communicates well across teams, and is comfortable partnering directly with attorneys, staff, and clients.

Key Responsibilities



  • Review and process monthly pre-bills to ensure compliance with client billing guidelines, including rates, expenses, and cost exceptions
  • Generate, distribute, and finalize invoices in a timely manner through print, mail, and e-billing platforms
  • Handle narrative edits, time entry adjustments, and cost revisions as needed
  • Upload LEDES invoices through e-billing hubs and client-specific billing portals
  • Prepare client statements, timekeeper summaries, cover sheets, and other billing support documentation
  • Compile receipts and back-up documentation for third-party expenses billed to clients
  • Respond to questions related to billing totals, payment status, matter history, and unbilled accounts
  • Participate in meetings related to unbilled work, accounts receivable, and collection efforts
  • Maintain organized billing files and provide supporting documentation for audits, attorneys, and internal requests
  • Assist with collections follow-up, identify billing deductions or issues, and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Support special billing requests, reporting needs, and additional finance-related projects as needed


Qualifications



  • 5+ years of billing experience within a law firm environment required
  • Experience with Elite 3E required
  • Strong understanding of complex legal billing and e-billing workflows, including systems such as Tymetrix, Serengeti, or similar platforms
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across attorneys, finance, clients, and third-party contacts
  • Highly service-oriented, organized, and able to manage priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • High school diploma required
