- Translate requirements into a system architecture and detailed design.
- Design and integrate industrial automation and control systems including PLC controls, motor controls, and general machine controls.
- Determine feasibility of modifying existing or designing new equipment considering costs, time limitations, and other technical and economic factors.
- Validate designs through analysis and testing
Operational Excellence
- Coordinate own design efforts to meet production schedules and provide project task estimates and updates to project team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: BS in Electrical Engineering Experience: 0+ years experience in developing and maintaining electromechanical system designs. Licenses/Certifications: Obtain and maintain railroad safety training and credentials Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of business software including MS Office suite.
- Collaborate with others to clarify requirements and develop solutions.
- Lead design reviews consisting of multi-disciplined and cross functional team members
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: MS in Electrical Engineering Experience: 0+ years experience in the following:
- 480VAC power generation and distribution
- Engine/generator controls
- Industrial automation and controls systems
- Electrical traction systems (DC & AC)
- Motor controls and variable speed drives
Licenses/Certifications: EIT Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge in Autodesk and ERP software
