Job Summary

Night Shift; 6pm-6am: $24.75 - $27.00/hr

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Receives job assignments from Production Manager or Supervisor who provide guidelines and priorities for work.
  • Performs all machining set ups, adjustments and tooling changes in a timely manner in order to minimize downtime.
  • Positions slabs on the infeed conveyor in the prescribed manner to ensure a consistent and continuous flow of parts through the machine.
  • Corrects feeding problems using safety procedures included in the policies and procedures.
  • Lead team in the packaging, stacking, box making and palletizing operations adjusting as required.
  • Informs quality assurance and maintenance personnel regarding quality and maintenance issues.
  • Performs troubleshooting as needed and participates in minor repair as requested.
  • Maintains records, files and logs as required
  • Leads hourly employees to maintain a high level of productivity while observing all safety rules.
  • Assists in the planning and assignment of work.
  • Fills in at various work stations to facilitate the flow of work.
  • Performs all duties following established safety procedures and guidelines using assigned safety equipment and wearing safety protection as required (i.e. safety shoes, gloves, glasses, earplugs, etc.).
  • Maintains good housekeeping standards in assigned area.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements and Skills:

  • Requires a thorough knowledge of the department processes, procedures and equipment.
  • Requires skill in the set up, operation and adjustment of assigned equipment. Must be knowledgeable of company products, terminology, identification systems and quality standards.
  • 2-5 years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be skilled in the use of a variety of hand tools.
  • Requires basic computer skills and knowledge of specific software.
  • Must have basic math skills including addition, subtraction and multiplication. Requires the ability to maintain numerical records.
  • Requires the ability to make equipment adjustments to meet product requirements and to respond to changing circumstances. Judgment, initiative and problem solving skills are necessary to maintain equipment set ups and productivity. Most duties require normal alertness and mental activity, with close concentration necessary for long periods of time.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to stand, push, pull & reach for long periods of time. Must be able to lift & carry up to 60 lbs. Ability to maneuver around an array of machinery. Use of hands to finger, handle or feel. Color & peripheral vision; depth perception & ability to adjust focus. Work environment conditions include: exposure to moving mechanical parts; fumes, airborne particles and chemicals; extreme heat & loud noise level in some areas of the facility. Ability to quickly respond to a signal when it appears. Must be able to wear safety glasses & other assigned PPE for the duration of the shift. Ability to work in an efficient & timely manner, multitasking where necessary. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform duties which requires tolerance of standing, repetitive hand movements, continual bending and squatting, near/far/depth/color vision, and inside ambient temperatures
  • Works in close proximity to moving mechanical parts. Must follow safety procedures to avoid injury.
