Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and in accordance with Brown University Health policies and procedures, the Senior Financial Analyst provides financial support to all institutions within the health system. This role is responsible for supporting and enhancing financial reporting, analyzing financial data, and data integration for various financial systems. The successful candidate will be a collaborative, detail-oriented professional with strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills and demonstrate proficiency with financial reporting tools and systems.

Core Responsibilities:

Data Integration and System Management:

  • Lead the integration of financial, operational, and capital data across multiple systems to support accurate budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Maintain data integrity by validating, reconciling, and troubleshooting data feeds between platforms such as ERP systems, EPM planning tools, and reporting databases.
  • Partner with IT, system vendors, and internal stakeholders to enhance data connectivity, automate workflows, and improve system performance.

Financial System Reporting:

  • Develop, generate, and distribute systemwide financial capital reports using enterprise reporting tools and financial databases.
  • Build dashboards and standardized reporting packages for leadership, providing clear insight into trends, variances and project performance.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness in monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles.

Project Coordination & Collaboration:

  • Coordinate crossfunctional efforts to standardize reporting and data governance practices across the health system.
  • Serve as a subjectmatter resource for financial systems, assisting teams with data access, interpretation, and system functionality.
  • Contribute to project management activities related to system upgrades, reporting enhancements, and workflow improvements.

Professional Development & Compliance:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial reporting practices through continuing education and training seminars.
  • Adhere to and promote Brown University Health's Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

Other Duties:

  • Participate in various financial projects and provide ad hoc analysis as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, or a related field is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in finance in a complex, multi-corporation, automated environment.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
  • Proven experience with financial systems, data integration, and accounting processes.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in web-based reporting tools, data mining, and report distribution platforms.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to support large-scale financial operations and initiatives in a team-oriented environment.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed in a typical office environment with extended periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Hybrid work schedule: Combination of on-site and remote work.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but may collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Pay Range:

$82,284.80-$135,782.40
