Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Gate Driver in West Palm Beach, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location in an access control role where you will greet visitors, verify credentials, manage entry points, and document activity while providing clear, professional communication. This is an armed, driving post, supporting security-related duties through a visible presence, routine area checks, and quick response to incidents. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors by following site-specific access control procedures, security-related protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Control entry and exit at designated points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining sign-in and/or sign-out logs, and directing visitors to the appropriate destination.
  • Screen packages, property, and deliveries in accordance with site policies, report prohibited items and/or suspicious behavior, and document activity per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, public areas, and perimeter zones to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity, and report maintenance concerns and security-related issues.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 3+ years' combined law enforcement/military/security experience OR a college degree.
  • An Armed Guard Card/License is required.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma/GED as required by the client.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
