The HR Compliance & Employee Relations Specialist, under general supervision, supports the organization through the strategic alignment of regulatory compliance and positive associate relations. This role provides guidance on policy application, audits, ensures adherence to labor laws, internal compliance protocols and workplace investigations. The HR Compliance & Employee Relations Specialist focuses on resolving moderately complex issues and supporting HR programs that serve the needs of leadership and associates.

This is a remote position, and candidates must live within approximately a 70-mile radius of our office locations in Springfield, MO; or Monett, MO.

The salary range for this position is $59,750- $70,000 and will be determined based on location and experience level.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Serves as a point of contact for Corporate Policies, EEOC filing statuses, and audit requests (such as jGRC).
  • Facilitates the daily administration of the Unemployment Claim processes.
  • Actively supports and participates in internal Associate Relations processes, providing guidance on workplace issues and policy interpretation.
  • Collaborates with management to clarify project requests, identify Associate Relations trends, and recommend solutions to mitigate risk.
  • Reviews performance-related documentation, such as Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and termination reports, to ensure alignment with company policy.
  • Assists in the rollout and implementation of HR programs, policies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partners with HR Partners to implement strategies that enhance associate engagement and satisfaction.
  • Reviews and analyzes associate relations data to identify trends, reporting findings and recommendations to management.
  • Contributes to the maintenance and execution of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.
  • May perform other job duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have:

  • 4 years of dedicated well-rounded Human Resources experience.

What would be nice for you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR.
  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance regulations.
  • Exercises sound judgment to resolve moderately complex issues and select methods for obtaining solutions.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to manage difficult conversations effectively.
  • Experience guiding or assisting less experienced peers is preferred.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with a high degree of discretion.
  • Works effectively as a team contributor, coordinating efforts with other employees and stakeholders.
