Application Window Open date: February 6, 2026 Next review date: Sunday, Mar 8, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Friday, Aug 6, 2027 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Clinical Neurological Surgery The Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking applicants to fill a faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Clinical Neurological Surgery, In-Residence, Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series. Successful candidates will have the foundation, preparation and vision to pursue a productive career in academic neurosurgery. This will entail clinical expertise, teaching research, university and public service. Required Qualifications: The candidate must be an MD, MD/PhD or equivalent, ABNS and ABPNS certified/eligible. The candidate must have completed a Pediatric Neurosurgery fellowship and must have or be able to obtain a California medical license, by the start date. Candidates must possess the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within an environment that fosters team science and multidisciplinary patient care. The Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery currently has 4 faculty members and is based at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, which has clinical programs at both San Francisco and Oakland. The division functions under an administrative structure that includes subspecialists in child neurology, neuropsychology, and pediatric physiatry. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $154,700 - $405,900.
