Technical Solutions Engineer-Arena

As a customer success team member, the Technical Solution Engineer is responsible for the delivery of the technical aspects of a customer's implementation in a timely and professional manner to the customer's ultimate satisfaction. The primary responsibility would include designing, developing, and maintaining custom extensions between PLM and related enterprise systems using the company's Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS). This role combines PLM domain knowledge, software engineering, ETL best practices, API development, and workflow automation to support scalable and reliable product data operations. Other responsibilities may include troubleshooting customer Arena API issues and migrating PLM/QMS data to and from Arena. We seek individuals who can develop and propose innovative approaches to designing and delivering technical solutions. The ideal candidate will be detailed and process-oriented and able to handle multiple projects concurrently.

A manufacturing background in High Tech, Medical Device, or Consumer Packaged Goods is a plus.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to solve problems, achieving goals by overcoming obstacles
  • Design and develop custom extensions using APIs, event triggers, webhooks, transformations, and custom logic to automate business processes and enhance PLM workflows
  • Build reusable integration templates, workflows, and extension components to accelerate future implementations
  • Enhance or replace legacy or bespoke extensions with modern, scalable integration patterns
  • Troubleshoot failures and implement rootcause resolutions across authentication, connectivity, schema changes, and workflow logic
  • Inspect, cleanse, transform, and model data with the goals of

    Being able to identify and remove/transform data anomalies,

    Consolidate and standardize data format.

    Support discussions and decision-making with the customer

  • Computer programming or coding skills (VBA, Python, T-SQL, etc.)
  • Advanced skills with ETL, SQL/MySQL, VBA, REST API (RESTful framework), JSON, SOAP, GraphQL, XML, Microsoft Excel, stored procedures or other data tooling
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with PLM, QMS, MCAD, ERP, etc.
  • Expertise with a variety of data tools and technologies, including VBA (Excel and Microsoft Access), SQL, REST API (RESTful framework), JSON, SOAP, GraphQL, PDX, XML, VBA
  • Java, and/or Python would also be a plus
  • Experience with collaboration tools like JIRA, Teams, Confluence, and/or Salesforce is a plus
  • EST location is preferred to correspond with Europe.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another related field
  • 4+ years of experience in integration development, automation engineering, ETL, or software development
  • 4+ years of proven technical consulting in a software solution implementation setting

PTC carefully considers a wide range of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $58,000- 110,000. The anticipated annual salary range encompasses both the base salary and the on-target incentive compensation that may be attained in this role. The salary range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Eligible employees also have the opportunity to become a PTC shareholder through our employee share purchase program (ESPP) which allows for the purchase of discounted PTC stock. Certain roles may also be eligible for participation in our equity programs.
