Our enrollment counselors serve as key guides and advocates for prospective graduate students discerning advanced study at Bethel University. Through intentional outreach and sustained relationship-building, the Enrollment Counselor helps prospective students navigate the admissions process from initial inquiry through enrollment. This position conducts one-on-one conversations with applicants, attends recruitment events, and serves as a trusted point of contact as students evaluate how Bethel's Christ-centered graduate programs align with their professional goals, calling, and vocation.

The Enrollment Counselor works in close partnership with academic departments, faculty, and internal stakeholders to understand program-specific requirements, timelines, and admissions criteria-ensuring prospective students receive accurate guidance and a high-touch, supportive experience. By bridging the needs of students and academic programs, this role contributes to a thoughtful, efficient admissions process that reflects Bethel's commitment to excellence, care, and whole-person formation.

What you'll do

Recruitment - 50%

a. Reach out to and develop relationships with new and prospective students.

b. Hold one on one meetings with each prospective student.

c. Attend on and off campus recruitment events.

Application Process - 40%

a. Facilitate the application process for students in assigned programs.

b. Partner with departments to improve admissions process and understand program requirements.

c. Serve as the liaison between prospective students and the departments.

Department Engagement and Training - 10%

a. Attend the department meetings of assigned departments.

b. Attend and contribute to professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's degree

Required Experience: No prior experience required.

Preferred Experience: 2+ years of experience in higher education, marketing, or sales.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Must be a proven self-starter.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must know how to use the appropriate communication tools used in the recruitment process - phone, email, chats, text messaging.
  • Must be able to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple duties.
  • Must be able to handle sensitive, confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suites.
  • Must have an aptitude for workplace technology.
  • Working knowledge of a CRM technology, preferred.
  • Ability to work with students of all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds assisting them with the admissions process.
  • Ability to travel locally, regionally and nationally.


Travel: This position requires local, regional and national travel.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop and/or laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.

The work environment involves working for a suburban, Christian university in which all employees are expected to have a demonstrated commitment and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a commitment to the mission and values of the University, and an agreement to abide by all University policies.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The job requires extended periods of sitting and traversing the Bethel Campus on a regular basis. Must be able to carry suitcases and large recruiting displays across large parking lots and up and down flights of stairs.

Expected Hours of Work:

Typically, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with the expectation to work specific schedules and hours as identified and communicated by management. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. The role works 40 hours per week, 12 months per year position.

The pay range for this role is:

43,000 - 45,000 USD per year (Bethel University)
