OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANYFox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. The Vision

KDFW FOX 4 is seeking a forward-thinking Chief Photographer to lead our award-winning visual team into the next generation of news. We aren't just looking for a manager; we are looking for a visual architect who will bridge the gap between traditional broadcast excellence and the frontier of streaming and social media.

As the Chief, you will be the catalyst for change-empowering a veteran crew with new technologies, fostering a digital-first storytelling culture, and ensuring FOX 4 remains the visual leader in one of the nation's most competitive markets.

Key Leadership & Innovation Responsibilities

  • Transformational Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of photojournalists. You will move beyond "scheduling" to active coaching-conducting regular critiques and workshops to elevate the station's visual brand.
  • Next-Gen News Gathering: Lead the deployment of IP-based systems, cellular delivery, and emerging technologies. You will identify and implement tools that streamline content creation for FOX 4's streaming platforms and social media channels.
  • Visual Identity & Quality Control: Set and maintain the highest standards for visual storytelling. You will ensure that every frame-whether on a 70-inch 4K TV or a smartphone screen-reflects the urgency and quality of the FOX 4 brand.
  • Strategic Fleet & Gear Management: Partner with Engineering to modernize our ENG fleet and field gear. You will turn our mobile units into agile, high-tech hubs capable of sophisticated multi-platform distribution.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage administrative duties, including scheduling and safety compliance, with a focus on efficiency and proactive problem-solving.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strategic Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in video/audio production and transmission (Satellite, Cellular Bonding, and IP-based workflows).
  • Digital Fluency: A strong understanding of how visual storytelling differs across platforms (Broadcast vs. YouTube vs. TikTok/Instagram).
  • High-Pressure Leadership: The ability to make critical, calm decisions during breaking news and emergency scenarios.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills to act as the primary liaison between field crews and News Management.

Education & Experience

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a high-intensity television broadcast environment (Top 25 market experience preferred).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Radio/TV, or a related field.
  • The "X" Factor: A proven track record of successfully integrating new technologies into a legacy newsroom environment.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $45.67-49.52 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
