Overview

Responsible for leading DOT (Department of Transportation) compliance and fleet-related regulatory compliance across Mastec Renewables. This position provides enterprise-level oversight and governance to ensure consistent adherence to federal, state, and company DOT standards while supporting safe, efficient, and productive field operations. The Sr Manager will serve as a senior subject-matter expert and escalation point for DOT compliance matters and partners closely with Equipment, Safety, Operations, HR, Legal, and regulatory agencies to reduce risk, improve compliance outcomes, and support operational performance.


Responsibilities

  • Own and govern the enterprise DOT compliance framework in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and applicable state regulations
  • Provide enterprise-level coordination and oversight of DOT compliance documentation and programs, ensuring clear accountability across Equipment, Safety, HR, and Operations
  • Serve as the primary liaison during DOT audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries
  • Lead internal DOT audits, trend analysis, and corrective action planning across regions and business units
  • Establish and monitor DOT compliance metrics to provide visibility into risk exposure, audit readiness, and operational impact
  • Establish and maintain fleet-related DOT compliance standards and procedures in coordination with Equipment and Safety leadership
  • Oversee CSA BASIC compliance tracking and trend analysis; develop action plans to address risk areas
  • Ensure post-incident processes are executed consistently with appropriate documentation and follow-up
  • Provide oversight and guidance to regional DOT and fleet compliance activities
  • Support DOT compliance and post-incident process training for drivers, supervisors, safety staff, and field leadership
  • Ensure DOT-regulated maintenance and inspection records are accurate, complete, and audit-ready
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure consistent DOT compliance execution across all regions and business units
  • Advise Equipment and Operations leadership on DOT compliance risks and mitigation strategies that support safety objectives and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with HR and Talent Acquisition on compliance-related role requirements and training expectations
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce regulatory risk, operational disruption, and avoidable cost

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Associates degree preferred and/or combination of education and experience
  • Seven+ years of progressive experience in DOT compliance, fleet compliance, or regulatory leadership role
  • Experience supporting multi-region or large fleet operations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected in the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the Company's Zero Injury principles
  • Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and fleet / construction management systems
  • Ability to analyze trends, assess risk, and drive corrective actions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders

Working Environment:

  • When visiting jobsites the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
  • This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises
