What this job involves: Lead the operation, maintenance, and repair of critical facility equipment across all building systems to ensure optimal performance and safety standards. You will serve as a technical expert in one specialized craft area while maintaining multi-skilled capabilities across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and central utility plant operations. This role requires hands-on expertise combined with quality control oversight to deliver superior facility management services and maintain JLL's commitment to operational excellence.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Perform comprehensive maintenance, monitoring, and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems
  • Execute preventative maintenance programs including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to maintain HVAC systems at optimum performance levels
  • Maintain responsibility for facility services, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance oversight, and technical proficiency standards
  • Review monthly client service request summaries to identify patterns and implement corrective measures for recurrent operational problems
  • Record equipment readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation and compliance with applicable standards
  • Monitor quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors while evaluating vendors for competitive pricing
  • Comply with departmental safety policies for hazardous materials storage, usage, and disposal while maintaining clean and safe workplace conditions

Required Qualifications:

  • Technical certification or associate degree in mechanical systems, electrical technology, HVAC, or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in facility maintenance and building systems operation
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in at least one craft area (Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations)
  • Multi-skilled capabilities across various building systems with ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations for hazardous materials handling and workplace safety compliance
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose and resolve operational problems efficiently
  • Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks including lifting, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications in HVAC, electrical systems, or facility management (EPA, NATE, electrical license, etc.)
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building automation systems
  • Knowledge of energy management principles and sustainability best practices
  • Experience in vendor management and contract oversight for maintenance services
  • Understanding of preventative maintenance scheduling and inventory management systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and team members

Location: Mobile position supporting multiple client sites in the area

Work Shift: 1st shift with on-call responsibilities

Salary/Comp: Union rate - $46.04/hr
