About the Role

We're seeking a collaborative Product Designer to support seasonal work focused on basketball uniforms and travel systems. This role offers the opportunity to work within a close-knit team of 4-5 designers, contributing to research and development of performance-based products from conception through retail. One domestic work trip may be required during the assignment.

What You'll Do

Ideation & Visioning



  • Generate innovative approaches to performance-based product design that create competitive marketplace advantages
  • Develop concepts aligned with product vision through collaboration with cross-functional creation teams
  • Contribute to genesis of new product concepts across business units


Research & Engineering



  • Define testing protocols to prove and validate design concepts
  • Develop concrete insights through deep understanding of consumer, business, and performance requirements
  • Engineer prototypes and identify key elements of product construction, materials, and processes
  • Deliver proof of concept by transforming visions into reality using new technologies and construction methods


Project Management



  • Enable innovation projects by collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams including manufacturing and third-party vendors
  • Navigate complex challenges with imaginative, state-of-the-art solutions
  • Maintain confidentiality on all project work (critical requirement)
  • Work within established budget parameters


Communication



  • Prepare reports and present results at functional department level
  • Clearly communicate technical knowledge and best practices
  • Support technology transition to product development

  • Adobe Illustrator expertise (essential)
  • Keynote proficiency
  • Photoshop capabilities
  • Collaborative work style - thrives in team environments
