Children's Concept Designer

This is a part-time contract role, offering 30 hours per week for an initial 3-month period with potential for extension. We are looking for someone who can start immediately.

The Concept Designer will be responsible for creating original design concepts across Baby, Toddler, and Kids categories, encompassing all product lines from apparel to accessories. This role requires interpreting fashion trends and translating them into compelling style, color, and fabric applications for children's products.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop original design concepts for children's products (Baby, Toddler, Kids) across apparel and accessories
• Create sketches and digital mockups interpreting seasonal fashion trends
• Analyze fashion trends specific to children's retail market
• Manipulate and create print designs with ability to produce quick mockups
• Collaborate with sourcing and materials development teams
• May provide basic fit and body block information and participate in fit sessions
• Present seasonal design concepts and proposals
• Leverage AI-supported design tools to enhance creative output

Required Qualifications

• 8-10 years of professional design experience
• Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent professional experience
• Strong expertise in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
• Proven experience with digital design and print manipulation
• Portfolio demonstrating children's or baby-focused design work
• Experience with AI-supported design tools and workflows
• Ability to create rapid mockups and design iterations

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in children's retail brand design (mass market or specialty retail)
• Print design specialization with technical manipulation skills
• Experience across multiple children's product categories (apparel, accessories)
• Understanding of children's fit and sizing considerations
