Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is looking for a talented writer who can develop compelling content that supports our company's business development efforts and helps us win new projects, in our Pittsburgh, PA Office. The ideal candidate is a curious, motivated writer who asks good questions and demonstrates a desire to understand our business and our clients' needs while maintaining CEC's unique voice and producing high-quality assets within our brand guidelines.

Demonstrate and further develop your writing chops in a collaborative, fast-paced corporate environment. Reporting to a Marketing Manager within the Marketing department, you'll consistently generate new project description content and work directly with the firm's Project Managers and Principals to obtain approvals, acquire project photography, and track client permissions - typically with quick turn-around times. You'll also use our existing Adobe InDesign templates to turn your content into marketing collateral.

Your organizational skills will be utilized to manage a growing library of project description content and maintain a searchable intranet database accessible to the entire company. You will also provide support to marketing and technical personnel who use our intranet's resume and project description tools.

Responsibilities:

    Under the guidance of the marketing communications team leadership, write, proofread, and edit copy for project descriptions
  • Manage workload and coordinate with all necessary in-house teams and internal clients to prepare project descriptions in a timely manner
  • Maintain project description and project photography files, as well as update an intranet database
  • Ensure accuracy of materials by coordinating with team members effectively and professionally
  • Create project description layouts utilizing an existing Adobe InDesign template
  • Responsible for complying with firm branding guidelines, departmental procedures and standards, internal client preferences, and instructions


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field
  • 0-3 years of experience
  • Demonstrated strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Experience using AI to draft content narratives preferred
  • Experience in a professional services workplace will move your resume to the top
  • Required experience in Microsoft Word
  • Preferred experience in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Copilot
