Security Officer - Data Center Patrol

As a Security Officer - Data Center Patrol in Rochester, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a fast-paced tech, media, and telecom location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access control and incident reporting. You will communicate clearly with staff and visitors, respond to security-related concerns, and represent a caring, people-first culture that acts with integrity, teamwork, agility, reliability, and innovation.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical events, and fire or intrusion alarms.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of office areas, common spaces, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Control access to the property by monitoring entrances, verifying identification and/or credentials as required, and directing guests to appropriate check-in processes.
• Monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, access control, and alarm panels, and report unusual activity per post orders.
• Document security-related activities, patrol observations, incidents, and service requests in written logs and/or electronic reporting systems.
• Communicate clearly with site contacts, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents, policy questions, and changing conditions.
• Assist with security-related screening of deliveries and contractors, including coordinating access to restricted areas when authorized.
• Provide escorts as requested for employees, visitors, and/or vendors within the facility and to parking areas based on site procedures.
• Support business continuity by maintaining post readiness, completing shift turnovers, and following chain-of-command and escalation protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
