Licensed Psychologist - Juvenile Court Clinic

Community Healthlink (CHL) is seeking a Licensed Psychologist to join our Juvenile Court Clinic team. This is a meaningful opportunity to provide culturally responsive clinical and forensic services to children, adolescents, and families involved with the Massachusetts Juvenile Court system.

Position Overview

The Licensed Psychologist will conduct court-ordered clinical and forensic evaluations, provide consultation to court and community stakeholders, and deliver timely mental health assessments for court-referred youth. Training in Juvenile Court Clinic protocols and forensic evaluations is provided.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally competent clinical and forensic services to children, adolescents, and families involved with the Massachusetts Juvenile Court.
  • Complete court-ordered written evaluation reports (training is provided) for cases involving
    • Juvenile delinquency
    • Child Requiring Assistance (CRA)
    • Parental fitness and capacity in child abuse and neglect (Care & Protection)
    • Competency to stand trial
    • Criminal responsibility
    • Involuntary civil commitment for mental health and substance use
    • May conduct additional evaluations, including violence risk, fire-setting, and sexual behavior risk-needs assessments.
  • Provide same-day emergency mental health evaluations for court-referred youth.
  • Offer consultation to families, probation officers, judges, attorneys, treatment providers, schools, physicians, DCF, and other stakeholders.

Position Qualifications

Required Education, License & Certification

  • Doctorate in Psychology or Counseling Psychology.
  • Licensed Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Willingness to pursue and obtain Certified Juvenile Court Clinician (CJCC) I & II training in accordance with statewide Juvenile Court Clinic Protocol.
  • Successful completion of a CORI background check.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Clinical experience with children, adolescents, and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and external professionals.
  • Proficiency in psychological testing and assessment for forensic and clinical evaluations.
  • Strong skills in producing clear, thorough, and timely documentation consistent with forensic standards and agency policies.
  • Clinical and forensic skills aligned with CJCC training program standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience conducting culturally competent written forensic and mental health evaluations with children, adolescents, and families.
  • Proficiency in consultation related to court disposition, service planning, and case management.
  • Interest and ability, with experience, to mentor CJCC Candidates as a CJCC I & II Mentor.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Work is considered sedentary.
  • Position is based indoors in a standard office environment.
