JOB DESCRIPTION

The Production Supervisor (Group Performance Leader) is a frontline manufacturing leader responsible for driving daily production execution, leading hourly teams, and delivering safety, quality, and performance results on the production floor.



This role is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, understands industrial equipment, and is passionate about building strong, accountable teams.



You'll partner closely with Maintenance, EHS, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure operational excellence while fostering a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and supervise production teams across assigned shifts to meet daily production schedules and KPIs
  • Manage and coach Team Performance Leads (TPLs) and hourly production associates
  • Drive results across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Engagement (SQDCE)
  • Monitor production metrics and implement actions to improve throughput, efficiency, and cost control
  • Coordinate with Maintenance to plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Lead daily performance meetings and cross-functional problem-solving discussions
  • Ensure compliance with EHS standards and directly influence site safety culture
  • Support investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions related to safety, quality, and performance
  • Administer coaching, feedback, and corrective action in alignment with company policies
  • Communicate company strategy, site goals, and operational priorities to production teams
  • Support and sustain Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required (Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Operations, or Technical discipline preferred)
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing or industrial leadership experience
  • Proven experience leading hourly production teams in a plant or factory environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Experience driving KPIs and operational performance metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and evaluate direct reports
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and floor-level leadership)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)



Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement Systems (Green Belt or higher preferred)
  • Familiarity with SAP, Power BI, or manufacturing data/analytics tools
  • Background in packaging, plastics, paper, food, or high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Experience leading change, culture improvement, or performance turnarounds
