DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This internship is situated within the Northcentral Engineering Office of the Bureau of Facility Design and Construction. In this role, you will support engineers and inspectors in various construction initiatives related to state parks and forest districts. Your responsibilities will encompass involvement in significant maintenance projects, which will include tasks such as topographic surveying, cost estimation, design calculations, drafting, and the preparation of permit applications.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time internship that will run from 5/1/2026 through 8/28/2026.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Compensation is credit based:
    • Less than 90 credits in an Engineering major - $21.23/hour
    • Over 90 credits in an Engineering major - $22.13/hour
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Internship Requirements:

  • Enrollment in good academic standing as a FULL-TIME student in a two-year, bachelor's, or advanced degree program in:
    • Civil Engineering
    • Environmental Engineering
    • General Engineering
  • An approved major course of study at an accredited college or university.
  • Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)
  • Freshman year completed by May 2026
  • Pennsylvania residency or enrollment of a Pennsylvania college or university

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
