DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Equipment Operator A, you will be responsible for safely transporting residents to and from their medical appointments, treatments, and activities. In addition, you will be in charge of picking up and delivering important materials, supplies, medication, and blood samples. You will pilot a variety of automotive equipment, including single-chassis trucks and vans, passenger vans, and buses. In this role, you will be expected to assist with maintenance tasks, such as snow removal during inclement weather, conducting safety checks on vehicles and equipment, and handling minor repairs and preventive maintenance. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents and the efficient functioning of our facility.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (1st Shift), rotating weekends and holidays, with a 30-minute lunch. This position requires the flexibility to work occasional weekend shifts.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:
  • You must possess a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

Condition of Employment:

  • This position requires a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Passenger endorsement (P) in order to meet operational needs.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
