DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this vital role, you will supervise a team of Legal Assistant 1 and Legal Assistant 2 (LA) staff regarding the approval of timesheets, leave requests, and all other administrative needs. This position performs the full range of supervisory duties including enforcement of all office, agency, and Commonwealth rules, policies and procedures, maintaining LA staff position descriptions and performance standards and conducting employee performance evaluations and progress reviews as required. You will have the opportunity to directly assist attorneys, Senior attorneys, and Deputy Chief Counsel attorneys to complete a wide variety of assignments, special projects, and other administrative needs. Additional duties:
- Assign work to LA staff in a manner that ensures efficient and timely completion of the work of the division
- Review and approve assignments completed by LA staff for accuracy, conforming to standards, and to determine what further processing or action is required
- Train and advise LA staff on all procedures, rules, regulations, and style guidelines related to the assignments being completed and the attorneys or boards being supported
- Update and maintain the LA manual including all current policies and procedures
- Make recommendations for improvements, such as updating procedures, changing policies, additional training, team assignments, attorney assignments, and individual assignments

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Legal Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Five years of responsible clerical, investigative or enforcement work including two years of legal clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
