Inova Health is looking for a dedicated DevOps Engineer 1 to join the Team. This remote role will be full-time day-shift from Monday - Friday.

The DevOps Engineer 1 is an entry-level role responsible for supporting the development, deployment, and maintenance of applications and infrastructure under the guidance of senior engineers. This role focuses on learning DevOps practices, assisting with CI/CD pipelines, and supporting cloud and on-premises environments.

DevOps Engineer 1 Responsibilities:

  • Assists in maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
  • Supports containerized applications and environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Performs basic scripting and automation tasks (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
  • Monitors system performance and escalates issues to senior engineers.
  • Participates in troubleshooting and resolving incidents under supervision.
  • Documents processes and contributes to the team's knowledge base.
  • Collaborates with developers and IT staff to support deployments.
  • Assists in executing standard operating procedures for deployments, rollbacks, and incident response.
  • Learns and follows platform security, compliance, and change-management practices in regulated healthcare environments.
  • Participates in post-incident reviews to understand root cause analysis and preventive controls.
  • Develops baseline familiarity with cloud cost awareness, tagging standards, and resource lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrates continuous learning through guided labs, certifications, or internal enablement programs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree; or Associate's degree and 2 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience required; or HS Diploma/GED and 4 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience required
  • Experience: Experience in IT, software development, or DevOps-related roles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in software development, or DevOps-related roles preferred.
