The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is an advanced practitioner, prepared at the Master of Nursing level or higher. The APRN contributes to the advancement of evidence-based nursing practice and continuous improvement of comprehensive quality patient care. The APRN advances oncology nursing practice as an expert clinician, interdisciplinary consultant, educator, researcher, and nursing leader. The APRN achieves this through involvement in clinical support, education, research, organizational support, quality initiatives and professional growth. The APRN is accountable to be responsive to the dynamic needs of the organization, staff and patients within the changing health care environment.

This position will be 1.0FTE/full-time Monday - Friday, from 8am - 4:30pm with some flexibility.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse

  • Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross) and renewal required every two years

  • Must have current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license or current NLC multistate license (MSL); and MSL with Primary State of Residence to WA is required within 60 days of hire. This requirement may be waived under specific circumstances, subject to approval.

  • Uses knowledge of differential illness diagnoses and treatments in comprehensive, holistic assessments of patients within the context of disease and treatments - the outcome being a diagnosis of the etiologies of problems that require nursing interventions to prevent or alleviate symptoms, functional problems and complications.
  • Design, implement and evaluate innovative individual and/or population-based programs of care to achieve targeted nursing-sensitive patient outcomes.
  • Consults with staff regarding assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. Serves as a role model and provides information and resources to cultivate staff skills and enhance nursing practice.
  • Serves as a leader, consultant and change agent in advancing the practice of nursing among other nurses and across organizations.
  • Contributes clinical expertise and nursing perspectives to decision-making processes through committees, project development and work groups that align with the organization's mission, goals and values.
  • Leads selected projects or programs with focus on fiscal responsibility, quality and patient safety.
  • Develops collaborative inter-professional relationships and draws on these relationships to enhance clinical care and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Interprets the multiple dimensions of nursing care that require system-level resources and provides leadership to ensure the system obtains needed resources.
  • Advances the practice of nursing through innovative evidence-based professional practice guidelines, standards and organizational policies.
  • Communicates information and conducts educational services regarding advancements in nursing practice- within the organization and to the community at large.
  • Expands the practice of nursing through ongoing generation and acquisition of scientific knowledge and skills to maintain expert clinical practice and associated best-practice outcomes.
  • Fosters collegial relations with APRNs in other hospitals or agencies. Participates in professional organization activities that promote both the nursing profession as well as the profession's relationship with consumers.

Preferred:

  • Oncology patient care experience
  • ANCC recognized Specialty Certification
  • 2 years of relevant patient care experience

The annual base salary range for this position is from $126,984.00 to $200,678.00, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

This position will be 1.0FTE/full-time Monday - Friday, from 8am - 4:30pm with some flexibility.

This position may be eligible for relocation assistance.

This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship at this time.
