About The Role

Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is hiring an Assistant Retail Branch Manager based out of the American Fork branch.

Work closely with the operations manager to oversee daily operations of the branch. To supervise the delivery of service to customers through Relationship Bankers and Tellers. Identify customer needs while maintaining existing and developing new client relationships. Ensure the branch is in compliance with all regulations, with primary responsibility for identifying and communicating deposit related compliance requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs and monitors relationship banker and teller operations to insure they meet organizational goals. Monitors product delivery quality and takes action to resolve problems. Handles customer problems and complaints, helps customers with special needs or requests. Escalates issues to Branch Operations Manager as appropriate.
  • Ensures the organization follows all regulations, policy and procedure; responsible for compliance issues associated with deposit programs.
  • Identifies and takes action to improve the departments operating methods and procedures.
  • Opens and closes the branch. Maintains and stays abreast of security policies and procedures.
  • Create positive solutions for customer inquiries through cross-selling opportunities.
  • Assists the Operations Manager in managing direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of the company, including: hiring, scheduling, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Appraise performance and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion, and termination, as appropriate.
  • Provide back up for all Operation Manager duties when necessary.
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Complete required bank training courses within assigned time frame(s). It is the individual learners' responsibility to ensure that they understand the information given to them in each training. If the learner does not understand the information given, they need to reach out to their supervisor for further clarification or additional training.
  • Adhere to Altabank Core Values.
  • Keeps management appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
  • Participate in Community Service and Bank sponsored activities that serve and support the mission and values of the Altabank.
  • Provide superior internal and external customer service: must demonstrate self-governance, courtesy and respect toward external customers as well as internal customers (all organization personnel).
  • Represent Altabank in a professional manner which includes a professional image, confidentiality, a positive "can-do" attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs. Keep work area tidy and maintain customer privacy. Attends and participates in meetings as required.
  • Regular and predictable attendance in order to accomplish, among other things, in-person contact with customers.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two to five years of similar or related experience.

  • A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Must have in-depth understanding of and ability to interpret regulations affecting deposit programs within the Bank.
  • Capacity to work with multiple computer and software systems.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to mentor and lead; need strong leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Employee must be capable of interacting calmly and professionally with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds at various levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Employee must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
  • Ability to adapt to change (e.g. shifting priorities, demands, and timelines) through time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position.
