Lafayette Group is seeking experienced professionals to provide advanced consulting support for federal cybersecurity programs. The Senior Slack Developer leads the administration, integration, and secure deployment of the client's Slack tenant used to enhance collaboration across federal government and critical infrastructure partners encompassing cybersecurity, engineering, and mission support. This role blends deep Slack administration expertise with secure coding practices, enterprise integration, and team engagement, including leading the larger client team to use Slack to its full capacity and potential.

Job Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain the Slack organization/tenant platform, ensuring optimal performance, security, and compliance with federal standards.
  • Oversee Slack organization administration and management to include user accounts, roles, permissions, profiles, sharing rules and security settings for external users across multiple agencies/organizations.
  • Coordinate with IT operations team to deploy updates, patches, and new features integrations, ensuring minimal disruption to system operations.
  • Assist with the integration of Slack with various other tools through API calls and direct integration to enhance collaboration and automation.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for system configurations, release processes, and project deliverables.
  • Design Slack-based alerting and workflow systems based on client requirements.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to best practices.



Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems management, mathematics, engineering, or other relevant discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development, system integration of tools/capabilities, Enterprise Low Code No Code platforms with 3+ years focused on Slack app integration and development.
  • Strong understanding of the Slack development ecosystem, including Erlang, and Slack integration mechanisms for out of the box and custom integrations.
  • Expertise in API development, data transformation, and software interoperability.
  • Experience working with COTS cybersecurity tools and custom software development.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement secure and scalable solutions.


  • US citizenship with an ability to obtain and maintain DHS Suitability (EOD).



Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with the operations and mission of DHS, CISA, or other federal cybersecurity organizations; experience supporting federal cybersecurity programs (e.g., CDM, CISA, DHS).
  • Slack Certified Developer or equivalent experience.
  • Background in cybersecurity, compliance, or secure collaboration tooling.



Location: Arlington, VA

Salary Range: $100,000-$150,000

New employees are not usually hired at the top of the estimated salary range and salary decisions depend on the circumstances and factors for each case. Salary is only one aspect of LGI's generous total compensation package.

Federal Contracts: This position involves working on federal contracts that require all workers on the contract to be U.S. Citizens. Additionally, some contracts may require the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Contingent Hire: This position will be hired contingent upon winning the Federal contract work.
