Job Description - Paralegal I, II, or Senior

Are you an organized and detail-oriented Paralegal with direct experience working on contracts and commercial transactions, including preparing initial drafts, facilitating review, assisting with finalizing contracts and actively managing the contract lifecycle?

Do you enjoy collaborating with legal, business and regulatory teams?

What you will do:

  • Assist attorneys and business teams with contract drafting, review, and administration.
  • Support the contracts lifecycle, including due diligence, execution, administration, amendment, renewal, and termination.
  • Under the oversight of our attorneys, collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure contract terms align with company policies, business goals, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and organize contract repositories and databases.
  • Prepare summaries of contractual requirements and key dates for business units.
  • Conduct legal research related to contracts, regulatory compliance, and utility operations.
  • Assist attorneys with development, implementation and ongoing management of contract forms, policies, and process improvements.
  • Support audits and regulatory requests involving contracts.

What you bring:

  • At least three years of experience in a paralegal, administrative assistant, or legal assistant, or similar role in the corporate, utility or contracts field or related area.
  • Outstanding client service and communication. Finds ways to build efficiencies and improve the client experience.
  • Excellent research and technology skills, including proficiency in MS Office products (especially Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook), Westlaw and/or Lexis/Nexis, and familiarity with the Internet, including search engines and the use of Boolean search terms. Experience with maintaining a database and/or central repository for contracts and corporate documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology and principles.
  • Impeccable integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of Company matters.
  • Strong interpersonal/people skills and written communication skills.
  • Superior organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness. Exceptional proofreading skills. Your resume and cover letter present a great opportunity to demonstrate your writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Adept at working in a fast-paced environment and under deadlines. Ability to follow detailed instructions. Willingness to take on multiple detailed tasks and effectively prioritize various projects and deadlines.
  • Outstanding analytical skills including ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and develop substantiated conclusions.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, positively, and as a collaborative team player with attorneys, as well as colleagues at all levels within department and across the organization.
  • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor. Regular and predictable on-site attendance.
