Overview
Goldbelt Security's Alaska Operations provides services throughout Alaska that include intermittent security needs. Goldbelt Security (AK Ops) is separate arm of the Goldbelt Security, LLC, operating out of Juneau and reporting to the VP of Alaska Operations. Summary: The Security Guard III serves as a senior security professional, responsible for overseeing complex security assignments, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and supporting site leadership. This role may function as a lead guard, assisting in training, supervision, and coordination of lower-level guards while independently managing critical incidents and reporting to the Security Supervisor or Site Manager. Starting at $25.00 an hour
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions: * Serve as lead officer on shift * Mentor and coach junior guards * Coordinate with management on security planning * Monitor closed-circuit camera systems (CCTV) covering multiple areas of the property and identify unusual or suspicious activity * Respond promptly to client or tenant requests for assistance, including traveling up to four floors using stairs or elevators from the primary workstation * Conduct routine internal and external property patrols, ensuring security policies and procedures are consistently followed * Conduct site audits and recommend improvements * Oversee incident response and reporting accuracy * Represent security team in client meetings * Assist in scheduling and shift assignments * Perform all duties of Security Guard II * May be required to work on-call or call-back hours * Provide security coverage during special events, including crowd monitoring and support for event staff * Maintain high standards of professionalism, visibility, and customer service while representing the organization * Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge: * Ability to develop and implement patrol strategies * Advanced knowledge of emergency response protocols * Strong leadership and situational awareness * Excellent judgment, professionalism, and problem-solving skills * Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, visitors, tenants, and law enforcement * Ability to manage and coordinate team activities efficiently Minimum Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED * Must be at least 18 years of age * At least 2+ years of progressive security experience * Experience in safety/security environments (e.g., military, law enforcement) * Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff * Military service in a related field may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis * Valid Security Guard License issued by the State of Alaska Department of Public Safety or the ability to obtain within 30 days after employment acceptance * Valid Driver's License required and clean record * Clear criminal record and ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening * Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certifications within 3 months of hire Preferred Qualifications: * Training in defensive tactics, de-escalation, or emergency response * Prior experience in mining, industrial, or corporate security operations * Familiarity with CCTV systems, access control software, and two-way radios Pay and Benefits At Goldbelt, we value and reward our team's dedication and hard work.
