Position Summary: As the Vice President of Sales at Milliman MedInsight, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and steering the triumph of our sales organization. Your core responsibilities include designing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with company goals. Leading a team of Sales Representatives, Sales Engineers, and Sales Development Representatives, you will be responsible for building the sales pipeline, nurturing qualified opportunities, and closing new business at target win rate and on sales cycle duration. The Vice President of Sales does not carry individual sales quota but is responsible for achieving $28M in new business revenue in the next fiscal year and is expected to engage directly with prospect clients, in conjunction with sales staff, as necessary to achieve that goal. Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, this individual will collaborate closely with product, marketing and client success leadership across MedInsight to achieve growth objectives. This individual is also expected to develop networks, build alliances, and build strategic relationships across various organizational levels, including C-suite executives. This influential leadership role also requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in sales coaching, training, and execution management to effectively lead the sales team. Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns seamlessly with company objectives.
- Develops and maintains a solid understanding of all products and services offered.
- Develop relationships with multiple stakeholders throughout the digital healthcare and analytics space.
- Identify and nurture strategic partnerships within the healthcare industry strategically expanding market reach and propelling business growth.
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to establish and fortify robust relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term loyalty.
- Sets strategy and coordinates team for finals presentations and site visits. Make sure all presentations reflect our strongest capabilities and are targeted to meet prospect needs and desires. Participates in presenting content in a clear and appealing manner.
- Participate in company sales meetings, industry conferences, and other networking and marketing activities as assigned.
- Provides information to Milliman MedInsight about industry trends, reasons for wins and losses, state of the competitive marketplace, product development needs, and client/prospect perceptions of Milliman MedInsight.
- Lead, inspire and mentor a high-performing sales team setting ambitious yet achievable revenue targets.
- Cultivate a positive and collaborative sales culture that prioritizes continuous improvement, innovation, and adaptability.
- Implement a robust sales coaching program designed to elevate the skills and performance of the sales team.
- Conduct regular, dynamic training sessions ensuring that the team is well-versed in product knowledge and equipped with cutting-edge sales techniques.
- Provide personalized, constructive feedback and unwavering support to individual team members, fostering their professional development.
- Oversee the entire sales process, ensuring its seamless execution and the timely delivery of innovative solutions to clients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and product development, to optimize sales strategies and product positioning.
- Utilize data-driven insights to monitor and analyze sales performance, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven track record of at least 10 years in senior sales leadership roles, preferably in the healthcare or analytics industry.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire sales teams.
- Experience in coaching, training and performance management.
- In-depth understanding of the digital healthcare and analytics space.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage and build relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels, including C-suite executives.
- Ability to adapt to shifting market trends and align sales strategies with company objectives.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing and product development.
- Strong analytical skills to monitor and analyze sales performance, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Compensation and Location: The overall salary range for this role is $147,400 - $279,680.
For candidates residing in:
- Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York City, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia the salary range is $169,510 - $279,680.
- All other locations the salary range is $147,400 - $243,200.
A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc. This role can be located remotely within the United States.
