Outbound Warehouse Manager

Our Outbound Warehouse Managers ensure outgoing shipments are accurately and completely filled, verify shipments against orders, invoices, or bills of lading. Schedule shipments to meet delivery commitments and oversee staging and shipping of outbound products. They communicate effectively with transportation vendors to maximize efficiency and reduce costs. As well as ensure that all Distribution Center activities comply with internal and external guidelines and regulations, including those governing employee health and safety. This is a full-time salary position, Typical shift is 12:00pm - 9:00pm Monday - Friday, hours/days of could change based on work load. Some Saturday hours may be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assigning workloads and daily tasks to Warehouse Supervisors and Lea
  • Oversee staging and shipping of outbound products. LTL, Parcel and Truckload
  • Ensure accuracy of paperwork on product
  • Work with our Freight Carriers to ensure pickups are made on time. Escalate issues to terminal managers via phone call to ensure that shipments are picked up on time.
  • Ensure the efficient management of labor hours and consumable supplies within budget and work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed
  • Minimize freight damage through proper packaging, making changes as needed.
  • Manage the IT infrastructure of the warehouse (wireless RF scanners)
  • Work to achieve 95% On-Time Delivery
  • Ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation of the warehouse
  • Suggest efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assists with the implementation of changes within outbound warehouse operations. Identifies problems and proposes solutions to other members of management.
  • Communicate with many internal departments within the company

Required Education and Experience

  • 5 - 10 years of warehouse management experience, preferably in Outbound Distribution.
  • Prior Managment of Direct Reports
  • Experience with ERPs and WMS (warehouse management software).

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associates or Bachelor level degree
  • XA or Manhattan experience

Travel:

The position will require less than 10% travel. All travel will be domestic.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
