TheSeniorMaterials Manager is the primary point of coordination and interface within the supply chain and overall operations organizationslocatedatthe Auburn, AL site.Thissenior-levelroleis responsible forproviding comprehensive supply chainstrategic, process, and tacticalleadershiptooptimizeinventory levels while meeting customer shipment expectations. Primary focus spans acrossinventory optimization,materialsplanning& scheduling,strategic sourcing, supplier management,SIOPand forecasting duties.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of Planning and/or Purchasing professionals to define and execute a materials strategyfrom materials requirement planningand PO through receipt and production/shipment readiness
  • Manages andis responsible forall aspects of theplant'sinventory performance metrics, including availability,inventory value,Excess & Obsolete, and Days on Hand.
  • Sets and manages theinventory strategy,plan for every part & monitorsperformance
  • Key contributorto the SIOP process for materials availability, inventory forecast, and scenarioplanning.Supports process oftranslating demand forecast into supply and SKU-based forecast
  • *Supports Plant Manager inachieving plant targets byassessingmaterialsriskand implementing countermeasures to closegaps.
  • ImprovesSAPeffectiveness by ensuringmaster data accuracy andcorrect planning parametersisset to enableautomation of planning & scheduling process.
  • Improve data/process to improve accuracy of customer commit/ATP dates.
  • Responsible for supplierstrategic initiatives,OTD and performance monitoring, andcost-out execution. Ensures corrective actions are in place toincrease supplier OTD and quality.
  • Works with thesite and business leadership to develop strategic roadmaps, forecasts, and action plans to support annual KPI improvements and Policy Deployment.
  • Implements,manages,and improvesall processesrelated to the materials department includingbut not limited toprocurement, material handling, scheduling, inventory management, receiving, shipping, production scheduling, forecasting, demand management.
  • Engages inand leadsactive problem solving, driving team to true root cause and corrective action.Facilitatesand coaches to build a culture of problem solving.
  • Leadsphysicalinventory counts and cyclecount,responsible for overall inventory accuracy
  • Establishes, deploys, andmonitorsstandard processes, policies & procedures, taking the necessary steps to ensurecompliance.
  • Develops and leads ateam of Planners & Buyerstowards best-in-class materials managementby performingfull range of managerial responsibilities, including, hiring,coaching,developing employees,planning,assigning,directing work, andperformance management.
  • Performs other duties asassigned.

Experience and Skill Required

  • Bachelor'sdegreerequiredin a business/industrial relatedfield.
  • Minimum of7yearsof experienceindirect materialinventory planningandstrategy development,including3years ofteam leadership and supervisory experience.Experience in industrial manufacturing withmixof MTS/ATO/MTO models preferred.
  • Functional knowledge of ERP system logic, especially Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), Scheduling, and Purchasing.SAP experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to build, lead,and developteams.
  • Strong financialacumen, especially in P&L and cash-flow modeling, scenario building, and comparative analysis
  • Expertanalytical skills with the ability to use a structured approach to understand, analyze, and solve complexproblems.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions with imperfect information. Rationalize calculated risks andadapt quickly asnew informationis available.
  • Strong written communication and excellent oral presentation skills, and the ability to present convincingly at seniorlevels.
  • Highly committed team player, flexible, and able to worktightdeadlines.
  • Abilityto travelup to10%of the timefor supplier visits or other business needs
  • Previousexperienceworking with SAPand/or OraclePlanning modulespreferred.
  • APICS, CPIM, CPM, ISM or ASQ Supply Chain Certificationpreferred.
  • SixSigma or LEAN certificationpreferred.
