Computed Tomography Techs perform diagnostic imaging using CT scanners, focusing on patient preparation, precise positioning, and operation of the equipment to produce high-quality images for medical evaluation. They administer contrast agents when needed, monitor patients during procedures, and adjust scan parameters to ensure clarity while minimizing radiation exposure. Their work includes reviewing images for accuracy, documenting procedures, and coordinating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals. In a hospital setting, they handle a mix of routine, inpatient, and emergency cases, often working under pressure and adapting quickly to urgent clinical needs, making technical expertise and patient care skills equally essential.
